Welcome to our lovely Gite, “Le Petit Ruisseau.” Situated in a small hamlet just outside the historic town of Domfront in the Lower Normandy countryside, “Le Petit Ruisseau” has easy access from
the ports of Caen, St Malo, and Cherbourg. Within a 1 minute walk is the river Varenne with good fly fishing and the Veloscenic cycle route that runs from Paris to Mont St Michel.
Located in it’s own large garden, the Gite consists of a lovely large farmhouse kitchen diner with a log burner and large farmhouse table. The comfortable lounge has a large fireplace with log
burner. On the first floor are two large light and airy en-suite double bedrooms, one of which is also equipped with bunk beds. All rooms have garden views. The large garden surrounds the property on
three sides and is mostly lawn with several private seating areas and an area ideal for ball games. Bisecting one part of the garden is a small stream. There is ample private parking. The Gite has
full central heating and double glazing throughout.
Ideally located for exploring the region - including the D-Day Beaches, Mont St Michel, Avranches, Domfront, Villedieu-les-Poeles, Granville, Bayeux Tapestry, D-Day Museums and the northern Loire.
Nearby in Brittany - St Malo with its ramparts, Dinan, Dinard and Fougeres.
Nature lovers will enjoy the huge range of birds and wildlife to be seen in the garden and surrounding area, including woodpeckers, red kites, red squirrel and occasionally an owl, as well as the
more usual varieties. Lovely countryside walks on the doorstep and quiet lanes and a converted former railway line ideal for cycling. There are several bars and restaurants in Domfront 15mins walk
away. Fly fishing is available on the adjoining river Varenne.
